The plans of Mr. Alex Moore to secretly abandon his wife, Haja Kagie Kalokoh and join hands in unholy matrimony with Zainab Ikeh Kassim did not materialize yesterday at the Roxy Building when family members, friends and sympathizers who knew the couple for over ten years prevented him from accomplishing his objective. Report reaching this press states that the Abacha Street Traders’ Chairlady, Haja Kalokoh left Makeni few years back to settle down with her husband at 14 Laden Hall Street in the Fourah Bay Community, with the hope of working together and upkeep their family. According to Haja Kalokoh, she has been living happily with her husband for about twelve years, even when her husband was unemployed for nine years.

She claimed that being a responsible woman; she went to the Mayor of Freetown and requested for a job for her husband to change his life. “When Alex realizes some changes in his life; his next move was to find another woman to marry” She explained. When Mr. Alex Moore secured a job, he wasted no time to abandon his home for three months and settled down with his new found lover, Zainab Kassim. Not until recently, Alex ran out of luck as he was spotted by his wife in the compound of his new found love at 6, Laden hall Street. According to Haja Kalokoh she wasted no time to enter the compound and enquired about his husband and what he was doing in the Compound. “I was informed by a lady that the house is a church where people go for prayers. But I saw my husband peeping through one of the windows of the house” She explained, and claimed that her husband sneaked out from their house with the sum of Six Thousand Dollars (US$6, 000), which was remitted to her by her relatives in the United States of America. “For over ten years he has been lavishing my money on his girlfriends” Haja Kalokoh revealed. “She explained that he uses his own key to enter our room while I was busy doing business in the market” While Haja Kalokoh was desperately looking for her husband and money he took from her, she received a tip-off from her colleagues that her husband is preparing to marry his new found lover at the Registry Office on Walpole Street. She wasted no time to mobilize her colleagues to storm the Registrar General’s Office on Wednesday morning where the ceremony was going to take place, where they met Mr. Alex Moore in a state of readiness to receive her proposed wife. He was immediately arrested by Police with the help of a cross-section of the Abacha Street Traders and whisked to the Family Support Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). Giving his own side of the story, Mr. Alex Moore claimed that he has a matter in Court and it was while on his way to the court he was attacked by his wife, who alleged that he was going to marry another woman. At the CID, Mr. Moore admitted to have abandoned his matrimonial home, because according to him he fears his wife. “My wife and her full grown children have not been in good terms with me. I had to flee the home to save my life,” says Mr. Moore, and went further to say “I have no intention to marry my girlfriend, Zainab Ikeh Kassim, whom recently I fall in love with her in order to serve as an alternative to my matrimonial life.” He denied stealing Six Thousand Dollars. Meanwhile an officer of The Family Support Unit at the CID, Mr. Claudius Samai has informed this reporter that the Police are investigating the matter, which he was optimistic would conclude peacefully. Up to press time Zainab Ikeh Kassim could not be reached for comment.
