Lawyer Warns lands official not to undermine the legal process

Ministry of Lands, Country Planning Official named A.F.Kai Banya has been issued a stern warning in a letter dated 21^st December, 2011 from one of Sierra Leone’s leading legal luminary, lawyer Sulaiman Kabbah Koroma to desist from orchestrating diabolical plans to undermine the justice system and due process of the law in the country “Stop circumventing the law and stop harassing my clients” He warned

Mr. A.K. Kai Banya may soon find himself in hot waters if he fails to comply with the contents of the letter, which among other things has cautioned him to distance himself from any further fraudulent manipulation of the law to protect Kadie Basma who has been purporting and laying claims on a piece of land situate and lying at Allen Town. The piece of land being the Estate of the late Hannah Cyprian Shaw is legitimately and lawfully administered by Mr. Chuku John.

While Kadie Basma has been reportedly knocking the doors of government officials and parading the corridor of the Ministry of Lands, Country Planning and the Environment soliciting political assistance to deprive the actual owners of the piece of land, Mr. A.F.Kai Banya is busy concocting documents of ownership of the land on behalf of Kadie Basma, and using threats and intimidation to illegally evict occupants of the premises situate on a portion of the land.

Documents produced by Kadie Basma, bears the name of two administrators namely, herself and one Jihad Basma, which has created a lot of legal doubts and suspicion for any court of law to detect the fishy nature of claims and the documents that Kadie Basma is parading with to weep up sympathy from unsuspecting helpers who would want to genuinely render assistance to her to secure a property that she alleged to originally belonged to her late father Mr. Abdel Basma.

Although, her effort to lay claims on the piece of land has been dismissed by many people aufait with her motive as fruitless, however; she has failed to take cognizance of the fact that effort and money spent is done in futility and has gone ahead to hire the services of Lawyer C.F.Edwards to apply to the court to set aside the judgment delivered against her late father in respect of the land and his predecessors. This matter is yet to be determined by the court as to whether  it can overturn a lawful and legally correct judgment to satisfy Kadie Basma who on many occasions has been heard making boastful statements of her connections both at the Judiciary and the APC Government or to upheld the judgment is yet to be seen.

“I wish to warn you that if you or officials from your ministry attempt to demolish any of the structures occupied by my clients without a lawful Court Order to do so, we shall take appropriate legal action against whosoever is culpable” Lawyer Kabbah Koroma warned and went on “ I therefore view your actions as an attempt to undermine the judicial process and directly interfere with an Estate, which is the subject matter of litigation”

It is not known whether Mr. Kai Banya would continue to further his fraudulent plans on receipt of this letter or would wait for the decision of the court on the matter as contempt charges now hang over his head.
