The recent nomination of Dr. Kelfala Koroma as Minister of Finance will see him standing in front of Parliamentarians this Friday, 21st December 2012.

Dr. Kelfala Marrah will deliver the 2013 Budget to the nation which would be debated by Members of Parliament in the coming days. It used to be Dr. Samura Kamara who does the reading, but President Ernest Bai Koroma has decided that this time round Dr. Marah should deliver the Budget Speech to the nation.

Officials of Government, including the Financial Secretary and other members of the team are reportedly engaged in putting information together to get this important document ready by Friday.

For Dr. Kelfala Marrah to be eligible to stand in the well of Parliament he would have to undergo Parliamentary scrutiny this week. He will be the first nominee of President Koroma to go through the baptism, which many believe will be done ease. Prior to this time, he has served as the Country’s Chief of Staff with office located at State House. Most of his State House assignments included, but not limited to appraisal of ministers, parastatals and others, work that should have been performed by the Vice President Hon. Sam Sumana as the 1991 Constitution demands.
