Two hundred homeless in Moyamba

There was chaos in a villaimagesge called Limba corner in the Kaiyamba Chiefdom, Moyamba District on 6th March2014, when a bush fire engulfed the entire village and properties worth Millions of Leones burnt down.

Report reaching this medium state that the inhabitants of the village went to work on their farms on the day the fire incident took place when seven houses including stores, kitchens and properties perished by the fire.

It is not yet known what caused the fire disaster, but sources intimated this medium that it was as the result of the uncontrolled bush wild fire that left over two hundred people homeless and temporarily relocated to the new apostolic church   that survived the fire disaster.

One of the displaced persons Tenneh Sesay believed to be a business woman told this medium that she lost everything to the fire. She explained that money to tune of Four Million Leones Le 4,000,000.00 including bicycles, power saw machines and other valuable items worth Millions of Leones were also destroyed by the wild fire.

The Town Chief of Limba corner   Pa Santigie Kamara explained that the trouble started at 1pm when only few women were busy doing their domestic work .He disclosed that several houses were razed to ground by the fire including two acres of pineapple garden and other crops badly destroyed, with only few houses with corrugated zinc and a church survived the disaster.

A bush fire had also engulfed a village along the Mile 91 Masiaka High Way with several houses and properties worth Millions of Leones gutted down by fire. The fire disaster was also reported to have acure at Levuma village in Kaiyamba Chiefdom Moyamba District where several houses and properties worth Million of Leones were burnt down and several people reported to have been injured by the fire.

Currently the displaced people of Limba Conner are calling on President Koroma and humanitarian organizations to render urgent assistance as the problem is now acute. Most of the children are now sleep in the open atmosphere with nothing to eat.
