Le 40m Embezzlement as NETHIPS bosses dragged to ACC

The Investigation Officer of the Anti Corruption Commission, ACC Bo, Ishmael Kamara has confirmed that the commission is currently investigating two senior officials of the Network of HIV Positive, NETHILPS, South,  for allegedly embezzling the sum of Forty Million Leones  donated by UNAIDS under the livelihood support project for people Living with HIV(PLHIVs)         

Making the confirmation  during an exclusive interview with Standard Times at his office along Kissy Town Road in Bo, Ishmeal Kamara said that the two senior NETHIPS  officials under investigation are the Regional Coordinator, South , Musa Ansumana and the Project Officer, South, Lansana Koroma both of whom , he furthered, were  dragged to the ACC by PLHIVs.

The Officer further stated that they have ordered the two senior officials to produce all necessary documents including payment vouchers to justify the judicious use of the project money.

The two NETHIPS officials, he went on, are yet to produce the documents which the commission will use to determine their innocence or guilt.

It could be recalled that the indicted Regional Coordinator, Musa Ansumana, was recently suspended from office when, in a meeting held at the NETHIPS Southern Regional Office at 26 Margao Street in Bo, openly confessed misusing the Forty Million Leones in question by using it to dish out loans to PLHIVs, the loans were never refunded.

Musa Ansumana was later reinstated. Few years back, NETHIPS Southern Regional Executive allegedly misused the livelihood project funds and were consequently dismissed but never prosecuted.
