The Bombali District Council administration and staff, and political heads in Makeni marked the past Saturday 5th October 2019 monthly cleaning exercise with visitations to various sites for different developments in various communities.

Led by the Deputy Chairman, the Chief Administrator, the Chairman of the Council and other dignitaries were taken to a seven acre land secured along the Makeni –Freetown High Way where a paddock will be constructed.

The Council’s Chief Administrator Bockarie Boany said the paddock which will be funded by the European Union and the Council will have grace land, water, guest house and other facilities.

The facility when completed he said, will host around two hundred, cattle and will be out-sourced to generate revenue for the council.

The team also visited a proposed market site at Pailap and another six acres of land, close to the University of Makeni (UNIMAK) campus at Yoni community, Makari-Gbanti Chiefdom. The Council with funding from the EU will be constructing twenty-four-three rooms’ apartment   hostels for students.  The hostels when completed will be operated in the form of public/private partnership. Says the Chief Administrator.

Chairman John Shanghai Koroma said with funding from the EU the council is very pleased to embark on the various developments which will commence soon and will help generate revenue for the council. The Chairman disclosed that the council has constructed a school out of its own source of revenue and currently upgraded a 21 bed room Guest House at Mena Hills in the Makeni city that will start operation soon.
