Flood disaster in Pujehun as several houses destroyed

In Sierra Leone, it has become a tradition for rain floods to cause catastrophe during every rainy season. This has been the situation in the capital city, Freetown and the provincial towns

Last Sunday, 10th august, 2014 a day-long torrential rain caused the River Wanje Puhjehun to over flow and flood into Pujehun town.

Eye witness accounts confirmed that the destroying over twenty houses and to properties worth millions of Leones, leaving many people homeless.

There was no report of loss of life but many houses gave way to the sweeping flood which displaced many people, eyewitness reports contributed.

Reports further that the Pujehun District Council in concert with other relief agencies has been at work providing support for the numerous victims of the flood disaster.
