Vice President Foh Lauds Indian Mercantile Association

In respond to the call of President Ernest Bai Koroma for support to the presently affected Mudslide and Flooding Victims in Freetown, the Indian Mercantile Association (IMA) on Monday 21st August 2017 donated assorted Food items worth millions of Leones to Vice President Victor Bockarie Foh for the affected victims

Vice President Victor Bockarie Foh upon receiving the list of the assorted food and non-food items, praised the efforts of the IMA and described the tragic incident as a National loss, living hundreds homeless with some victims hospitalized.
He noted that the country is observing a seven day morning and called on the nation to pray for the departed souls. It was revealed that a similar incidence took place as far back in the 40s and promised to hand over the list to the Office of the National Security.
Dr. Kishore Shankandas, the President for the Indian Mercantile Association Sierra Leone said that as Indian community in Sierra Leone, they are extremely saddened by last week event which left hundreds dead, homeless and hospitalized.
He expressed their deepest condolence to the government and to the families of those who lost their lives and properties due to the mudslide and Flooding.
He called on the Almighty God to bestow perfect peace on their souls as the Indian community has always show compassion during such difficult times.
The donated items include; 500 bags of Rice as a solidarity and compassion from Indian Community in Sierra Leone.
