Gender Models in Rural Communities help Unite Families in Kenema


The Social Enterprise Mobilization for Development in Sierra Leone (SEND-SL) is a local nongovernmental organization that operates in the Kenema, Kailahun and now projecting in the Western Areas. For years, this organization has been seeking the welfare and interests of rural communities in the Kenema district with the main focus on their health. Just after the Ebola Epidemic, SEND and partners including the Government of Sierra Leone and the Conservation Society of Sierra Leone was implementing a project entitled “prevention of zoonotic caused diseases” and within the project, there was the need for the introduction of Gender Models in these Communities.

Making a case of why the 2010 Environmental Performance Index is a bad ranking for Sierra Leone


the 2010 rankings for Sierra Leone (163/163) were of themselves a bad light (and reputation for the country). It painted a picture of the amount of work that needed to be done (relative to other countries) and more importantly, by virtue of the EPI’s methodological approach, the imperative need for domestic policy improvements on the environment (as essentially the EPI is nothing more than a method of quantifying and numerically marking the environmental performance of a country’s policies)

Somebody might have briefed the President with conflicting Environmental Performance Index Report


As a matter of fact, we are in the year 2018 but instead of dealing with the current Environmental Performance Index report of 2018, those who are at the helm of giving the President the environmental information to deliver in Parliament deliberately ignored the recent 2018 report and instead preferred to deal with a 2010 EPI report. Even with the 2010 EPI report, the right information and rating was not properly cited.
